Hawaii 1st and only digital gallery exhibiting Pygoya's as well as global digital artists' works. Dr. Rodney Chang's art is featured in the gallery.
He has been a local working digital artist since 1985, has had solo exhibitions at the Ramsay Art Museum,the Shanghai Art Museum, the Las Vegas Art Museum, the Holter Art Museum, and the Estonia Tartu Art Museum. Chang's work has been included in group shows at the Bronx Art Museum (NY), Computer Art Museum (NY), Portland Art Museum, the Roswell Art Museum (N.M.) and the Kauai Art Museum. He has also been juried into the Honolulu Academy of Arts' "Artists of Hawaii" exhibition several times.
In 2007 Chang was invited by juror Laurence Gartel, the globally recognized "Father of Computer Art," to participate in the "Digital Long Island Exhibition." The artist holds a Ph.D. in Art Psychology with serves as resource in the construction of his digital fine art.

PYGOYA GALLERY invites the public to attend its grand opening on July 31st, a Thursday, from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. The gallery director is Dr. Rodney Chang, formerly known as the Disco Dentist. Through an agreement with The Art Board, Chang will establish Hawaii's first gallery showcasing contemporary DIGITAL as well as multi-media fine art.
Although access into the exhibits is through the main entrance of The Art Board, Pygoya Gallery is established as a separate business entity. The address is 1170 Nuuanu Avenue, No. 104, Honolulu, Hawaii. It is across the street from Mark's Garage Gallery and just footsteps mauka of Pegge Hopper Gallery, also on Nuuanu Avenue.
Pygoya Gallery will be a new current of fresh air for the Downtown-Chinatown lst Fridays gallery scene. The gallery will feature digitally derived multi-media works of Chang as well as works by the Webists. Chang co-founded the Webism Internet movement in 2003. The mission stated is to create fine art specifically for the Internet in order to develop a shared online global cyber-culture.
Selected as part of the gallery's stable of artists include digital artists Ingrid Kamerbeek of Germany, Parys St. Martin of Colorado, and Ursula Freer of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The works of tattoo artist Jim Charette of Fall River, MA will add a youthful as well as rebellious twist to gallery's persona.
