Recently received "Best of Show" plus "Award of Excellence" at the AHA 2nd annual Plein Air Exhibit In 1992, kama'aina Warren Stenberg began a new fine-art painting career following early retirement from years of graphic arts, printing and advertising work. He studied art at Honolulu Academy of Arts & University of Hawaii with leading artists Jas. Goodman, Howard Farrant, George Woollard, Harry Tsuchidana, Dodi Warren, Dennis Morton, Joseph Nordmann, T.M. Nicholas, Paul Levitt and Skip Lawrence. Today, Warren reflects on a rewarding and exciting decade-plus and celebrates by producing a wide range of landscapes, seascapes, still lifes, portraits and non-representational work in oils, acrylics, gouache, collage and mixed media. Stenberg's work has been exhibited in numerous one-man and juried shows and has frequently received awards including the prestigious Grumbacher Gold Medallion and several recent Best of Show. He is an avid plein air (outdoors) painter. He resides with wife Carolyn in Kailua (Oahu) and paints in his studio there. Works are in private collections in Hawaii, N. America, Europe + permanent collections of Pacific Beach Hotel (HTH Corp) and St Francis Medical Center, Honolulu.
