Description/Comments
Why create art? Because I must.

People & Places

Making art for me is not something I choose to do but something akin to mental breathing . When I am fully engaged in an artistic process it is one of the few times I am able to exist completely in the moment and as such feel myself exhale tension, stress, and anxiety related to other aspects of living while creating space for problem solving, details, and inspiration.

Still Life

I received my Bachelors in Fine Art in painting from the University of Hawaii - Manoa in 2005. Since then I have branched out from traditional canvases and print making to mosaics, stackable block paintings, table pieces, a reflecting pool, mobiles, and jewelry boxes.

Island Views

My work has been shown in various venues around Honolulu and I frequently do live painting at the First Thursdays Poetry Slam.

Abstracts

When not painting on my lanai with Snoot (the cat) I am a skills trainer and art teacher at Loveland Academy, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Cityscapes

I have always been drawn to contrasting light and shadow in my paintings. I enjoy creating art that gives the viewer an opportunity to experience shifting light and shadows that may tickle their own particular fancies at any given moment.
