Description/Comments
Eddy Iwamura was born and raised in Tokyo. Her father was a teacher and leisurely artist and guitarist, and mother a full-time home maker and a calligrapher. Adding a music and art loving elder brother, she grew up in a typical suburban Japanese family.

Because her love for drawing started early in life but never materialized much further than doodling, she pursued degrees in English Literature, Anthropology, and Business Administration. She worked at an accounting firm in New York City, became a CPA, and started painting and drawing.

For paintings, she intends to capture motions and moments in brush strokes, just like the Japanese calligraphy, and express in "simple" and "natural" manner. Soft colors are preferred and watercolors and acrylics are mainly used as medias.

Drawing cartoon is as much a challenge as a stress releaser. "Beach Animals!" series started in 2002, soon after Eddy started surfing. The intention is to be funny, but at the same time, Animals address various issues.

Family, schools, jobs, and economy moved her from Tokyo to Los Angeles, Boston, New York, San Francisco, and to the current residence in Honolulu. She enjoys surfing and skiing (both forever beginner level), playing guitar and piano, and taking care of family, parakeet, and orchids.
