Description/Comments

De Pa Artworks is the creative venture of artist Deb Painchaud ....who creates her wearable art in her studio on Maui. These one of a kind orginals; dresses, scarves, purses and jackets are of the finest silks, velvets, and chiffons. A wide variety of painting elements, resist work, gutta and a modified shibori, go into creating the fabric for a piece, then the fun begins of designing the finished garment or bag. "Whatever it takes to make the piece work, I love beautiful things." Deb says. The opulenece of her woven evening bags showcases the hand painted warps and fine details such as the 'kumihimo' braid handles and embroidered trims. Please enjoy these unique pieces which incorporate her many skills to create some wonderful pieces.

De Pa launches her "wearable art", using a vast area of media and design techniques.....She weaves and paints on the warp.....she paints on silk scarves, silk jackets, silk, shawls and silk dresses. This vastly talented and exciting artist is taking off....stop by again in the near feature and see new additions to her "wearable art" line this Summer....De Pa paints on spun bamboo t-shirts with metallic paints, creating original designs, even over-painting the white t-shirts with her modified shibori technique.....A must see.....
