ABOUT DARLA SMITH
I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and specialize exclusively in Newborn Baby Photography, 2 weeks of age and under. My style is often described as having a whimsical, boutique feel, with a touch of class!
A little more about me...
 I was born and raised a country girl in NE Missouri. I'll probably always be a country girl at heart, but I will admit I have a crazy adventurous spirit. I'm absolutely, madly in love with my Best Friend I married 7 years ago! I'm a Mama to 2 wonderful kids both born in 2006, one January and one December! Each day is a new venture in our house and I wouldn't have it any other way:)
I've always had a passion for photography, but my love for photographing babies developed from our 3 week stay in the NICU. Our daughter was born at 34 weeks. Her little lungs collapsed at birth and I wasn't able to hold her until she was 5 days old. Our son was only 11 months old at the time and we had to spend our first Christmas as a family in the hospital. Such a painful thing for any one to have to go through. Our little Sadie came home with us 21 days later...
To me, each and every child is an absolute miracle and blessing! Our children have 100% been my inspiration to follow this passion. Photographing them daily for the past 3 years has made me realize how important documenting these memories for others would become. This passion has now become my life. I am a proud member of PPA and continue to study the art everyday to soak up as much knowledge as I can and perfect my abilities.
