Ring in the New Year!

February 5, 6-9 PM

Celebrate First Friday with 1,000 firecrackers, Lion Dances, & Thresholds artists giving a gallery tour at 6pm. We'll christen 9 new Lofts at an open house, and Marks is turning 15! Here's to Success in The Year of the Monkey.

As always, the Bar@Marks will be up and running with beer provided by from Kona Brewing Co. along with a full bar.

Thresholds Solo Photo Show

Reception on February 5, 6-8PM

The first annual show featuring exhibitions by local photographers Jon Shimizu and Leslie Gleim. A free slide show/discussion by the artists will be held on February 4 at 7:00pm in UH Manoa Krauss Hall 012. For more information call 956-8244.

Open House @ The Lofts

Chinatown Artist Lofts

Half-a-dozen artists open-studios on the second floor of Chinatown Artists Lofts with live music and refreshments overlooking a tropical courtyard from 5-10pm. Entrances on Smith and Maunakea near Hotel Street.

About The ARTS at Marks Garage

Our flagship program The ARTS at Marks Garage is a community arts center with a 1,000 sq. ft. gallery, a 1,000 sq. ft. theater, and a 1,000 sq. ft. office space founded in 2001.

Marks is home to 13 performing and visual arts businesses including Youth Speaks Hawaii and Hawaii Shakespeare Festival. 45,000 visitors attend 13 exhibits and 150 performances each year.

Marks and HAPA staff co-founded Chinatown's most popular event, First Friday Honolulu and also manage Chinatown Artists Lofts providing 13 live/work spaces, and Chinatown Art Corps providing afterschool programming for at-risk teenagers.
