Join guitarist Shoji Ledward as he helps usher in the new year with audience favorites from his far-ranging repertoire of standards, show tunes and jazz from the 1930s to the present.

With 2014 just a short look back in the rear-view mirror, the Hawai`i State Art Museum welcomes musician Shoji Ledward to kick off the inaugural First Friday of 2015! As an established music educator, director and performer, Shoji brings a repertoire based primarily around American Standards, show tunes and jazz from the 1930s to the present.

First Friday is a downtown gallery walk held on the first Friday of every month. Galleries and museums, including the Hawai‘i State Art Museum, are open for the event which is free to the public.

Image & Imagination is an exhibition of 38 curiosity-inspiring artworks in a variety of media. Drawn from the Art in Public Places Collection, these pieces were selected to act as a catalyst for response in museum visitors.

ABOUT THE HAWAII STATE MUSEUM

The Hawai'i State Art Museum is located in No. 1 Capitol Distric Building at 250 South Hotel Street. The building is situated in the historic Hawaii Capital Cultural District, across from 'Iolani Palace and the State Capitol.
