ABOUT SKY THE POET
 Skye has been singing and writing poetry since her early teens, in church and with community groups. Being a Mom came 1st, but she was writing poetry & wrote relationship articles with the San Diego Voice and the Dallas Voice in the 90's.
 Skye currently volunteers her time as a editor for the Waikiki Community Center. She has performed spokenword and sang Blues across America (From L.A. to Memphis, from NYC to Hawaii and alot of cities in between) and has been amazing audiences with her talents. Skye's Soul Poetry style is meant to inspire women/men to achieve the best of themselves.
Skye's Soul Poetry is currently accompanied by two appealing musicians; Percussionist, Rico Davis & Matt Moore on Sax/Flute, better known as Gental Persuasion. Music is what gives her Poetry Soul. Skye's influences are Guru, Billie Holiday, Niki Giovanni, Etta James, Koko Taylor, Tracy Chapman, Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne, and Chaka Khan.
