 The Mendonca Building's unique Courtyard is open again for First Friday in September which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
 Local photographer JAMES ANSHUTZ is returning to the Courtyard with his stunning photographs. He has generously dedicated his time and talent to help Hawaii Children's Cancer Foundation (HCCF) put a face to the story of childhood cancer and its impact on Hawaii families. Anshutz has photographed several local families with children who are currently battling a form of cancer, or have had children with cancer
 Music will be provided by local musician and frequent friend of the Courtyard, OTIS SCHAPER. He is also known for his frequent gigs with The Strangers, most recently at Atherton Performing Arts Studio at Hawaii Public Radio for a night dedicated to the music of the Bruce Springstein
If you are an artist in need of a “home base” in Chinatown, you may find further information about the recently renovated Artist Lofts, at HAPA’s loft profile.
Enter into the Chinatown Courtyard on Smith Street through the stand of bamboo at the Blue Dragon Gate or from the Maunakea Street doors. This event is free and open to the public.
