Angela Mathieu's soft and realistic exceptional watercolor paintings jump to life and depict the tropical island lifestyle. She was born in Arbroath, Scotland and trained as a Physical Therapist in London.   She first moved to Hawaii in the 1970’s and returned in the 1990’s when she had more time to appreciate the beauty and vibrancy of color in the islands. Angela made Hawaii her permanent home in 2000. Primarily a watercolorist, she has also worked in batik and oils and enjoys painting Island themes.  She is a member of the Hawaii Watercolor Society and was their H.K. Holbein award recipient in 2005.  Her works can be found in numerous galleries and shops around Oahu.

Sonya Napoleon, returning to the Courtyard, was born and raised in Australia. She moved to Hawaii in 2008 with her husband and two children to be closer to her husband's family. She studied art and graphics in high school in Melbourne, and although not formally trained, she managed to produce her own range of greeting cards which she supplied to gift shops and was the illustrator for a children's book called 'Cafe La Jungool' , published in 2005. Sonya is currently pursuing painting whilst raising her two children and hopes to build up a collection with underwater themes being the focus of her work.

Shayne Turner, a repeat exhibitor at the Courtyard demonstrates her creative talents, as she unveils “Grand Strands” along with rings, earrings, and necklaces crafted from rare and exotic gemstones. Having grown up on Oahu, her creations reveal her deep love for the beauty and mystique of the Islands. Shayne has extensive knowledge of gemology and freely shares with others information that she has gained from many hours of research and study. Stop by and experience the harmonious blending of her artistic expression with nature’s unique creations in an atmosphere filled with colorful reflections. Shayne’s pieces are unique, one of a kind and handmade.

Eric Hannah is a retired Chemical Engineer with a lifelong interest in photography. HannahPics was conceived in California as WindowPics some years ago during a period of life readjustment and was put away again in favor of employment until Eric retired about two years ago. The idea has re-emerged as HannahPics, large framed transparencies, a form of photographic “stained glass” and is still changing. The 2009 version is the latest incarnation.

Dennis Kline is a Honolulu artist who does large acrylic paintings. Originally from Minneapolis, Kline lived many years in an oftentimes frigid and bleak environment. The winter served as a blank white canvas in his mind. It was this that inspired him to create large, bright, colorful scenes. It was 2004 that Kline dedicated his life to his art. Since then he has endeavored to maximize his skill and creativity in order to captivate the viewer's imagination. His mission is to shock and amaze you with a generous visual feast of shapes, colors and energy. Current works take the idea of chaos in line and color and pairing them with themes in nature to create artwork that is grounded as well as fantastic. See past works online at www.DaPortfolio.com/160155 or see his work in person at the Courtyard, December 4th.

TAG will be back with new costumes on the rack and offering their “Costumes and Coffee in the Courtyard” There will be Vintage Clothing from the Dustyflint Collection. Dress up for your Christmas parties!

A professional photographer for 20 years, Heather Titus, has studied in Hawaii both in community colleges and been mentored by other professional photographers. Her photography has graced the covers of Honolulu Magazine, Hawaiian Airlines and Aloha Airlines in-flight magazines and used by the Hawaiian Visitors Bureau. She is well known, particularly on the Windward side, for her two “coffee table” books, which she will have for sale and signing in the Courtyard. She uses Hawaiian poetry and proverbs to relate life with nature and enrich the reader’s spirit.

Kate Wagner will be providing her Box dinners from the Starpoint Café. She always has some interesting pieces of art inside to view while you eat. Some artwork are her originals and some are contributed by her friends.

FRED GAYAGAS will be back on stage to entertain and encourage participation musically. He is available for your private parties as well. As you walk down Pauahi or Hotel Street, listen for and follow his music into the Courtyard.
