SEE...we are undone of madness, and to
dance together is our medicine
...Quadraphonix
grooves us into our bodies after
Breathe of Fire
ignites our spark. On Nov 6 we spin
through what we do, who we do, and what we done did, why are, what we were and
why this existed at all.
VISUAL
ARTISTS: Luc-Aimé Beauchamp is the latest self-described
“cheeky-surreal” painter to explore the phantasmagoria of
contemporary chromatic love, variegated sanity, placid death, and conflicted
justice. Beauchamp's most recent works are a series of 20x24
teeth-knashingly-hued watercolor land/seascapes inhabited by
lighter-than-air/heavier-than-water humanoid, aquatic, and mechanical bots.
Recently transplanted to Honolulu from Brookyn, NY, where Beauchamp ran the
infamous Fishypond Gallery inside a Bushwick tortilla factory Beauchamp holds a
Bachelor of Arts from Yale and a Ph.D. from Harvard, and has exhibited at group
shows in Manhattan and Brooklyn, including at ABC; Wild, Wild Brooklyn; and TNC
Gallery; as well as guerrilla performances at HoneySpace, Janos Gat, English
Kills, and the Guggenheim.
DAL: "Breaking Down"
is DAL’s first show in Honolulu She was born and raised on the east coast
and spent most of her life painting and working in the visual arts. Her present
life on Oahu is spent compulsively seeking contributions and documenting local
graffiti, people and places. She started writing graffiti back in the day and
stopped when she began documenting it. Most recently, after graduating from The
Art Institute of Boston with a degree in Fine Art, she became more interested in
showing the dynamic elements throughout the underground independent hip hop and
graffiti culture here in Honolulu.
MUSIC: Breathe of Fire was once called The Bucks Boys. The long hair of lead
guitarist and vocalist Jay will become a mess of pulsing curls. Ryan and more
friends will bring the rise of the night early and hot.
Quadraphonix
is back after two months of skipping in the fields, gathering wild flowers and
gently placing them behind each others ears.
Shree
Saragopan’s guitar with sitar
rhythms will sway us into dream, as Taimane Gardner rocks hard on the uke, Eli
Clemens brings us back with congas and
Jonathan Heraux
will bring such a drum beat, for the
floor he sees beneathe his feet will soon be in the back of his truck.
Ariel
Eisen is back from her Three Month trip
of trips across the USA getting her chops up. She has brought a new showmanship
to the stage and we get to be in the evolution.
Christina Nelson
collaborates
with James
Shether her songs have been at the soul
of our little arts center.
Matty
Chamberlain rocks us with his kingly
melodies. Theatre
& DANCE: Shakti Dance
Movement are our closest sisters. They
bring they’re unique show, and soulful presence to the dance floor.
Loco-Moco
will bust out the juggling clubs. + HUTC will come up with some final ritual
theatre antics.
