One-of-a-Kind Photos of Barack Obama in Hawaii
and
Abstract Art by Nicole Buffet, Granddaughter of Warren Buffet

808 Real Estate/Art Gallery presents two extraordinary and special artists Nicole Buffett and Susan Benay. Meet the artists on Friday, February 6, 2009 from 5 -- 9:30 pm. Nicole will be available between 7:30 -- 8:30 pm.

Nicole Buffett is the granddaughter of billionaire investor Warren Buffett. Ms. Buffett made an appearance in the documentary The One Percent, which examined the lives and childhood of some of America's top families. After hearing about the debut, Warren Buffett cut her off from the family. She appeared on Oprah, NPR and was featured in many publications. Today Nicole earns her living as an artist whose work has been obtained by private collectors from Japan to Washington D.C. to Hollywood.

Nicole has a BFA and MFA from San Francisco Art Institute, won the 2005 VH1/MTV Illustration for VH1/MTV film Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme and is a guest speaker for CCA. Her work is showcased in galleries across North America and will now be displayed in Hawaii.

" My choice to use a variety of both traditional and non-traditional art material reflects my own relationship to the world as a place of integration." "Abstraction allows all feelings to be felt and all visions to be seen."

Susan Benay earned her MFA from Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles, studied abroad, and worked with artists such as Richard Diebenkorn, John Altoon, and Charles White. Her work has been widely shown in galleries and is included in private collections.

As an art photographer and Kailua resident, Susan was able to capture rare moments of Hawaii --born President Barack Obama on two occasions, first while rallying in Keehi Lagoon and second while vacationing at a Kailua Beach house.

Her display "Being in Paradise with Obama" showcases photographs of the Commander in Chief and First Lady with special moments on the canal and sunrises from the beach. These images truly show the deep connection and love the President has for Hawaii.
