AlohaTower Marketplace presents: October First Fashion Friday ~ "Find Your Personal Style" October event marks the finale of the fashion series for 2008
Aloha Tower Marketplace caps off its fashion event series, "First Fashion Friday," on October 3 at 6 p.m. in the Center Atrium. Admission is FREE.
The next First Fashion Friday event will feature the theme "Personal Style"an evening of fabulous fashion, fitness, and free prizes. Highlights for the evening will include:
* The Hawaii Athletic Club will reveal the two fitness makeover winners. * Cathy Lee will help people find their own style. She is the president of RSVPstyle, a Hawaii-based company that teaches people to invite style into their homes. Her lessons are delivered through sold-out workshops, a DVD series, and RSVPstyle.com an interactive website for home design and decorating enthusiasts. Cathy is also KITV 4's Home Style expert, a columnist with Aroundhawaii.com, and has a blog with Honoluluadvertiser.com titled Living with Style. * New Media Productions will feature some of Hawaii's hottest models in a flashin'-forward fashion show with some of the season's most popular styles. * The Hawaii Fashion Incubator will have an after-party to showcase the University of Hawaii Costume Collection, on display all month. The display will also highlight October as breast cancer awareness month. All attendees can sign up for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on site, as well. (see details, below) The Hawaii Fashion Incubator (Hifi), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Hawaii fashion as art and industry, is hosting an exhibition of the University of Hawaii Costume Collection for the month of October at Aloha Tower Marketplace. The Costume Collection is one of the largest in the nation with over 20,000 garments, and Hifi shares UH's vision of making the Collection more accessible to the public and finding it a permanent home. The exhibition will officially debut at Aloha Tower's First Fashion Friday event on October 3 and will feature a selection of pink garments from the Collection to show its breadth and diversity and pay tribute to Breast Cancer Awareness month. Local artists will view the exhibition throughout the month and create pieces inspired by the garments to showcase at a Costume Collection fundraiser on October 23.
This series of fashion events, called First Fashion Friday, is a partnership between Aloha Tower Marketplace and the Hawaii Fashion Incubator. There will be free goodie bags from CMC Medi-Spa and prize giveaways.
