In her own words...
"A native of the Philadelphia area, I have made Hawaii my home since 1973. I knew early in life that I needed to make art. After graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting. I moved to Kauai and discovered the medium of watercolor. Painting in watercolor is fresh, spontaneous, and loose. I was hooked. Since then, my work has expanded to include acrylics on canvas, printmaking, and mixed media compositions. My work has a bold, energetic style enticing the viewer to look deeper and to embrace its colors, texture, and vitality. I like to interpret my subjects in an abstract style.
My independent study in art includes painting workshops in Umbria, Italy, Baja, Mexico, Hanalei, Kauai, and Napa Valley, California. I am enrolled in ongoing studio workshops at the Academy Arts Center in Honolulu. In addition to making art, I also volunteer as a Board Member for Hawaii Watercolor Society and The Honolulu Printmakers. I am a docent at The Contemporary Museum."

ABOUT CASSIS by Chef Mavro View profile
Overlooking shimmering Honolulu Harbor, the casual eatery exudes a tropical urban vibe. The menu is inspired by Chef Mavro's roots in the Mediterranean fishing village of Cassis and his love of everything Hawaii, especially Chinatown. French bistro specialties with an Island twist include: Rotisserie Chicken hulihuli style, plum wine sauce, with Chef Mavro's famous garlic Kahuku creamed corn and braised swiss chard; and Steak Frites, black angus bavette, Manoa lettuce and curried fries; and Grilled Day-Boat Catch, spinach, ogo-herb sauce, all with carefully selected wine pairings. The Cassis Wine Bar showcases pupus and wine pairings, a full bar, and pau hana specials from 4-7 p.m. Monday-Friday.
