"One Ferry. One State. One Artist. One Day."
Noted environmental and fine art photographer Susan Benay will host an exhibit of her photographic images taken while aboard the Hawaii Superferry on the Inaugural Voyages to Maui and Kauai on August 26, 2007.
There was only ONE first day of the Inaugural voyage of the Hawaii Superferry. It began as the hand on the clock of the Aloha Tower moved past 6am and the vessel launched out into the early dawn rose-colored waters of Honolulu Harbor. I raised my camera to my eye and began photographing as the day unfolded into a journey of extraordinary wonder and beauty and surprising events. -- Susan Benay
The show runs from November 1 -14 in Chinatown at The Art Board. Opening night artist's signing November 1st, 5:30 - 8pm at The Art Board, 1170 Nuuanu Avenue, Chinatown (phone 536-0121). Chinatown's First Fridays special event is also on Friday, November 2nd.
Capturing rarely accessible and amazing views of coastlines of Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai and Kauai this art show brings into focus a different side of Hawaii's natural beauty as well as offering a unique experience of what it was like to be on board on the very first day of sailing.
Opening in the midst of the historic special session of the legislature, the art show entitled "One Ferry. One State. One Artist. One Day." will provide another public forum for discussion on the Hawaii Superferry's role in the future of our State and a chance for people to see "what they missed"!
"First Friday on the Court" is a, "MUST ATTEND" place where the thousands of residents and tourist that attend "First Friday" can find local arts and crafts, entertainment, jewelry, food, art, art and more art!! Open to close entertainment by the multi-talented Fort Street Mall Band. Compliments of The Art Board!!
