From Ghana to Compton, from coffee house to concert halls, from night clubs to coliseums, Queen Sheba has taught and performed in 8 countries and 3 Continents; Including appearances in Cuba, PanaFest in Ghana, West Africa, Winner of the 4 Nations International Team Slam Champion-Oxford England, performing for the troops on the US Air Force base in K-Town Germany and a teaching residency at the University of Ill, Urbana-Champaign.
Recently paired up, no pun intended, with a major shoe company to bring Poetry Slams to 5 major cities, earlier this summer Queen Sheba has released two new music videos, (that's right! Spoken Word artists are doing music videos! You better catch up!) was selected to perform for the Rolling Stone's 500 Songs for Kids campaign, Sheba also was picked to be the 2007 BET Lyric Café's Featured Poet, works recently nominated for the NAACP Image Award as a part of the Check The Rhyme anthology from Lit Noire Publishing in Nyc and 2006's Just Plain Folk's Spoken Word Album of the Year; That's just the first half of 2007!
LIvE MuSIC: Mani Sierra, spacious, aerial, nimble and illuminating guitar music will be the first and second 2006 addition to the Loud Dust Recordings catalog of instrumental releases available beginning in May. From the ages of sixteen through twenty Mani was a classical guitar instructor at Windsor Music In San Antonio, Texas. With this experience Mani was Fascinated with his peer's and elder's perception of the "Guitar." After these great experiences Mani realized he wanted to create music unlike anything he had heard or played before. Since 2000, Mani has recorded and toured his first independent CD "Savant" extensively though out many states including Universities, smoke filled bars, religious festivals, coffee houses, live art shows and of course, an appearance at Captain Tony's in Key West Florida and most recent appearances in Honolulu, Hawaii. This alone proves his diversity and eagerness to perform as well as to share his unique gift of music with the world. Mani's music is described as "Ethereal Solo Recordings" and has caused many to wonder "where does this come from?" His unique sound has been difficult to label but easy to enjoy. Mani, who is influenced by many of the great progressive guitarist of the past decades, can still recall the days at Windsor Music when he personally met some of the key influencers on his guitar playing, for example guitar virtuoso Steve Morse. Mani Sierra has toured extensively throughout the United States performing in a diverse collection of venues, including colleges and universities, smoke filled bars, religious festivals, coffee shops, live art shows and of course his regular appearances at Captain Tony's in Key West, Florida.
