The 1st Tokakai calligraphy exhibition will be held at
The opening reception on Oct. 4th (Th) 5:30pm-7:30pm is open to the public.Ê
The exhibition is on Oct. 5th (Fri) 10:00am-9:00pm
Oct. 6th (Sat) 10:00am-4:00pm.
The demonstration and shikishi writing for sale are on First Friday Night 6:30pm-8:30pm. ÊÊ
Hiromi Peterson (Toka) and her 17 students at JCCH (Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii) Saturday calligraphy class will exhibit their calligraphy works with Kashu Kobachi, a guest Japanese national level calligrapher and Ken Peterson, a glass blower from Oregon.Ê
Hiromi Peterson (Toka) is a teacher of Japanese language and calligraphy at Punahou School, known as the co-author of a secondary Japanese language textbook "Adventures in Japanese," is an 8-dan calligrapher and a recipient of the Japan Foreign Minister Award and the Hawaii Bijutsuin Award.Ê
 "First Friday on the Court" is a, "MUST ATTEND" place where the thousands of residents and tourist that attend "First Friday" can find local arts and crafts, entertainment, jewelry, food, art, art and more art!! Open to close entertainment by the multi-talented Fort Street Mall Band. Compliments of The Art Board!!
