Fashion finale with SMART Magazine, Hawaii InStyle TV and KQMQ—
it’s an entire night of food, fashion, fun, and more.

If you’ve been to Aloha Tower Marketplace lately, you know that it’s revamped itself as downtown Honolulu’s epicenter of style. Its First Fashion Friday event series for 2007 is going out with a grand finale, before the Marketplace starts preparing for the busy holiday season.

On Friday, October 5 at 6 p.m. in the Center Atrium, the public is invited to view a special fashion show featuring the hottest looks from Aloha Tower Marketplace’s many stores. The FREE event will feature gifts from CMC MediSpa and Dr. Russell Matsunaga; prize giveaways from Aloha Tower Marketplace; fashion tips from Hawaii InStyle TV’s creator/executive producer Julie Aragaki; and more.

There will be two exclusive VIP parties, one of which will be at Honolua Surf Co. store featuring a live DJ, refreshments, in store specials, and goodie bags to the first 75 people that come through the door (on the guest list). Representatives from various surf clothing companies like Lucy Love, Billabong girl, Reef girls and Nixon will be on hand to talk to the guests from 7:30 – 9 p.m. The clothing company reps will also show a sneak peak of the Holiday and spring line. Honolua Surf Co. will then continue the after-party at Chais’s Island Bistro from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. There will be entertainment by DJs G-Spot, IKON, Quiksilva and Gabi. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Hawaii Missing Kids television special. To get on the guest list to these events, call 566-2337.

In addition, the lucky winner of the Marketplace’s makeover contest will be unveiled at the finale program. During the two weeks leading up to the October 5 event, this person will be treated to a one-on-one style session with Hawaii InStyle TV’s Julie Aragaki; an ultrasound facial by CMC MediSpa; a cosmetic dental consultation with Dr. Masunaga; hair and makeup by Alison Hayashi from Kiss and Makeup; and gift certificates from participating stores.Ê

In the last several months, fashion-forward stores have migrated to Aloha Tower Marketplace and taken the mall in a bold new direction that appeals to the local fashionista: Nicky Shoes, Precious Boutique, Island Style Attitudes, Remix by Trend Fusion, and Ang Namsilk. Existing stores like Pipe Dreams and Crazy Fish have expanded to meet the growing demand for fabulous work-to-play pieces. In addition, Hawaii Athletic Club has opened its doors to help customers look good and feel their best.

“This is the final event in the series for 2007, but that doesn’t mean the fashions are done,” says Aloha Tower Marketplace General Manager Floyd Williamson. “Our stores will continue to bring in the freshest fashions for local shoppers and we will keep the excitement going as we look forward to starting the event series again.”

Aloha Tower Marketplace—the Center of Celebration—is Hawaii’s premiere waterfront destination for shopping and dining, with over 75 shops and award-winning restaurants. It offers a variety of free activities such as ukulele lessons and live entertainment. Located next to the Hawaii Maritime Center, validated self and valet parking options are available.
