CURRENT EXHIBITIONS
Precious Resources: The Land & The Sea, is a new temporary exhibition that runs thru July 7, 2007. Artists include Allyn Bromley, Robert Hamada, Kathleen Kam, Herb Kane, Wayne Levin, Hiroki Morinoue, Louis Pohl, Franco Salmoiraghi, and John Wisnosky.
Enriched by Diversity: The Art of Hawai'i, is a semi-permanent exhibition featuring two- and three-dimensional works by over 250 Hawai'i-based artists from the Art in Public Places Collection. Inspirational themes in the installation revolve around rediscovering Hawaiian heritage, Asian roots, social consciousness, and cultural traditions.
Live from the Lawn is a series of innovative arts-oriented entertainment programming held on the first Friday of each month, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The shows are free to the public. The events are presented by the Friends of the Hawai'i State Art Museum, supported by the Hawai'i State Foundation for Culture and the Arts, the LEF Foundation, and the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism. Starbucks Coffee and the Honolulu Advertiser are support sponsors at all events. Tim Bostock Productions is the producer of these programs.
