Description/Comments
For only four hours each month, well-known and emerging artists are showcased in the delightful, historic, red brick promenade and in the festive courtyard. The “One Night Stand” will feature multi-talented artists this month all returning to the Courtyard with special items geared for Christmas giving. The public is invited to come and investigate excellent artwork, have refreshments and listen to wonderful Hawaiian music, which will be provided by Al Tringali and Friends. Be sure to go up the red stairs to the second floor, where you can see more displays and eat your dinner purchased from the Starpoint Café on the lower level.

Featured artists in the Courtyard will be led by Susanne Ball, who will bringing her striking and colorful paintings as well as prints, note cards and some new ceramic tile pieces. She will return to the Courtyard after an absence of over a year.

Spencer Hamada and Michael Creek will be showing their framed cast paper sculptures, which have the appeal of sculpture with the visual warmth of watercolors.

Sue Roach is a local Windward, watercolor artist from Kaneohe who specializes in still life paintings featuring glass fishing floats, landscapes and flowers.

Marti Rounds, though not bringing originals, will have some beautiful double matted prints of her fabric paintings and other unique items.

Local author Peter Forman will be signing and selling copies of his Wings of Paradise, Hawaii's Incomparable Airlines. This 300-page history combines the visual appeal of a coffee-table book with the engaging storyline of a well-told story, and it makes a great gift. Peter will also be available to answer your questions regarding aviation in Hawaii and the current airline fare war.Ê

Photography will be well represented by Donna Matichuk who takes a "less is more" approach to digital photography. Using nature as her inspiration, she finds beauty in
close-up details or isolates a single subject as the focus.

And also, with Shelleen Lindberg (S Rose PhotoArt) who will be displaying photographs of Local Hawaii. Shelleen's floral and scenic photography shows off her love for high contrast lighting and vivid colors.

The digital fine art of Maurice Hutchinson will also be on display. Hutch will bring 11 x 14 prints of his unique style, and show his two latest works for the first time.

Paul Staub will offer a mix of photography, sculptures and paintings.

Daunna's Art Studio from Kailua will be bringing 5-7 artists with an assortment of offerings, which will range from small paintings and ceramics to jewelry, cards and poetry books. Between ages 6 to 96, students at the Studio are of all experience and skill levels. Norma W. Gorst will be offering her notecards for sale and available to sign her original poetry books.

Hand crafted jewelry will also be presented by Deidre Suenaka of Deesigns Hawaii. She specializes in handmade boutique sterling silver and 14 gold-filled jewelry accented with freshwater pearls, semi-precious gemstones and unique beads.Ê

Rounding out the evening will be Arthur Nelander, returning with small prints and his unusual ceramics and Ivan Krillzarin who will be showing prints and small paintings.Ê

Luscious Lanikai Jellies by Tina Young will be available again as well.Ê As will chair massage by Dean Powell.

Enter the Courtyard through the open gate on Smith Street as marked by the Blue Dragon banner and located at #10 on the Gallery Walk Guide (Other Venues).
