Our most established artist to date Joseph Carlisi presents his work 5pm-9pm at Ong King.
| Description/Comments |
VIEW Our October First Friday 9-1pm Performance Schedule
Ong Kings First Friday show is packed with diversity. Where else in town can one go and see a Burlesque dance company, an up and coming graffiti artist and a Cuban drum ensemble all on the same stage? And that is just a small taste of the culture of expression that is on display this first Friday at Ong King.
Our most established artist to date Joseph Carlisi presents his work, the exhibit is entitled The Absence of Fear it happens this first Friday 5pm-9pm at Ong King.
ART GALLERY OPENING
Joe Carlisi is a surrealist painter who has been creating work for over 40 years. He is a native of New York, and has been a resident off Hawaii for over ten years. His style evokes the subconscious with striking juxtapositions of nature and civilization. He attributes his current style to the influence of his close friend author/anthropologist Carlos Castaneda.
"My intent is to transport the viewer's perception into a very real world of mystery, magic, awe and playfulness where there are no limits or boundaries. Modern culture has systematically replaced that world with elements that are routinely predictable, mundane, emotionally flat and inevitably boring. Original, imaginative, fearless art is one of the few antidotes available to us."
