 Ong King’s First Friday show is packed with diversity. Where else in town can one go and see a Burlesque dance company, an up and coming graffiti artist and a Cuban drum ensemble all on the same stage? And that is just a small taste of the culture of expression that is on display this first Friday at Ong King.
GALLERY OPENING 5-9pm
Two young artists present new work this first Friday 5pm-9pm at Ong King.
 (1) Erin McCullough has been producing art in the Hawaiian Islands for the past six years. Her work, which has been shown in Honolulu and Washington DC, is a documentation of the growth she constantly seeks as an artist. Erin has also been a featured artist on several occasions at the First Thursdays Poetry Slam. 
(2) UNOMAS, is a local graffiti artist. His work will feature fictional portraits and masks in black light.
ENTERTAINMENT 9pm - 1am
THEATRE PERFORMANCE: HUTC presents the Gong-Fu Theatre, a collection of Chinese philosophy, fable and Martial Arts.
DANCE PERFORMANCE: Three dance companies bring new work to the Ong King floors.
(1) Giinko Marischino brings a new piece in their signature Butoh Dance style.
(2) The Cherry Blossom Burlesque bring their original campy, sexy routines.
(3) Special Guests TBA.
MUSIC CONCERT (View Event Profile): The night begins and ends with dance.
(1) Cuban Drum Ensemble
(2) The King’s Dance Band (featuring members of Quadraphonix)
(3) DJ Robbie keeps the entire night flowing with world beats.
SLAM POETRY: Hawaii’s best slam poets including Kealoha, See, and Travis T, drop some of their favorite pieces.
