Description/Comments
Five Windward artists will contribute to the April “One Night Stand” on First Friday during the Gallery Walk in Chinatown. Finally on the official map, walk-in attendance continues to increase as the word spreads. Each event in the hidden courtyard of the Mendonca Building combines exciting artistic works, Hawaiian and contemporary music and refreshments with a festive atmosphere.

April will feature:

Marti Rounds , a colorist will present her tropical fabric (non-traditional) batiks.

Joan Dubanoski explores the patterns in nature and the relation of color to these patterns. Her vibrant digital images of Hawaiian flora express her goal of releasing natural beauty through archival prints on watercolor paper

Sue Roach's work is inspired by the beauty of Hawaii's flowers and spectacular scenery. She specializes in still life works of glass fishing floats.

Jeanne Nichols will return with her Hawaiiana ceramic art along with Arthur Nelander who will bring an array of paintings, prints and ceramic sculptures.

Al Tringali and his friend, Art Akina on base, will be in their usual First Friday spot performing their ever-popular contemporary Hawaiian favorites under the tent.

Enter the Courtyard through the gate on Smith Street as marked by the Blue Dragon and small lanterns.
